KCC Names New Conservation Division Director

The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) today announced the appointment of Doug Louis as Director of Conservation.

Louis, 47, has served as Wichita District Supervisor since January 1996. He was an environmental geologist at the KCC from November 1986 to January 1996. Prior to joining the KCC, Louis worked in the oil and gas industry as a petroleum geologist.

"Doug brings a wealth of technical and administrative experience and abilities to the position of KCC Conservation Director," said KCC Executive Director Susan Duffy.

Louis earned his bachelor of sciences in geology in 1981 and masters of business administration in 1992 from Wichita State University.

He is an active member in several professional associations including the Kansas Geological Society, and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and Division of Environmental Geosciences.

Doug and his wife Michelle and children live in Wichita.

He replaces Maurice Korphage who resigned from the Commission in April 2007, for an opportunity in the business sector.
