Additional classes are scheduled to be held in Chanute this year on Tuesday, November 3rd and Tuesday, December 8th.

The safety seminars are designed to help motor carriers comply with safety and economic regulations. Initiated nine years ago, the seminar has been an overwhelming success necessitating the need for additional locations and classes.

"The trucking industry is vital to the state’s economy and with more than 140,000 miles of public roadways, safety is paramount, to both the motor carrier and the motorists," said Transportation Division Director Mike Hoeme. "The safety seminars are a key element in a comprehensive approach to assuring the public roads are safe."

The safety compliance classes are free and held weekly on a rotating basis in Pratt, Hays, Chanute, Hutchinson, Topeka, and Garden City. All meetings are scheduled to start at 9:00 AM and last approximately 3-5 hours. Pre-registration is not required.
