Conservation Division Order Summary


For Fiscal Year 2022, the Commission issued 719 Conservation Division noticed and consent orders. Included among those orders were 334 penalty orders imposing $663,680 in fines payable to the state general fund.*

For Fiscal Year 2023, the Commission issued 689 Conservation Division noticed and consent orders. Included in those orders were 256 penalty orders assessing $656,050 in fines payable to the state general fund.*

For Fiscal Year 2024 (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024), the Commission issued 674 Conservation Division noticed and consent orders. Included in those orders were 283 penalty orders assessing $415,850 in fines payable to the state general fund.*

Fines are assessed to oil and gas operators that violate Conservation statutes and regulations.Generally, penalty orders are imposed when operators have forgone the opportunity to remedy or remediate enforcement issues. Pipeline Safety Division Order Summary


Pipeline safety number of penalty orders 2023

For Fiscal Year 2022, the Commission issued 33 noticed and consent orders in Pipeline Safety dockets. Of those, the Commission approved 25 Pipeline Safety penalty orders assessing $35,750 in fines payable to the state general fund.*

For Fiscal Year 2023, the Commission issued 31 noticed and consent orders in Pipeline Safety dockets. Included in those orders were 19 Pipeline Safety penalty orders assessing $30,750 in fines payable to the state general fund.* 

For Fiscal Year 2024 (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024), the Commission issued 25 noticed and consent orders in Pipeline Safety dockets. Included were 29 Pipeline Safety penalty order assessing $23,250 in fines payable to the state general fund.* 

Fines are assessed to electric and gas utilities and excavators that violate the Pipeline Safety statutes and regulations.Fines and penalties shown are based on the original Commission orders and do not reflect subsequent amendments or modifications.  

 

 

 

Telecommunication Division Order Summary


For Fiscal Year 2022, the Commission issued 254 noticed and consent orders in Telecom dockets. None of those assessed fines. 

For Fiscal Year 2023, the Commission issued 273 noticed and consent orders in Telecom dockets. Of those, no Telecom penalty orders were issued or fines assessed. 

For Fiscal Year 2024 (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024), the Commission issued 294 noticed and consent orders in Telecom dockets. Two Telecom penalty orders were issued assessing $3300 in fines payable to the state general fund*.

For Fiscal Year 2022, the Commission approved four Show Cause Orders to Kansas telecom carriers for violations of Kansas statutes and Commission orders. Of those, two were penalty orders assessing $3,429.39 payable to the state general fund.*

For Fiscal Year 2023, the Commission has approved one Show Cause Order to Kansas telecom carriers for violations of Kansas statutes and Commission orders. No fines were assessed.

For Fiscal Year 2024 (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024), the Commission did not approve any Show Cause Orders to Kansas telecom carriers for violations of Kansas statutes and Commission orders. No fines were assessed.

Transportation Division Order Summary


For Fiscal Year 2022, the Commission issued 1800 noticed and consent orders in Transportation dockets. Of those, the Commission approved 230 Transportation penalty orders, assessing $328,750 in fines payable to the state general fund.*

For Fiscal Year 2023, the Commission issued 1959 noticed and consent orders in Transportation dockets. Of those, the Commission approved 573 Transportation penalty orders, assessing $455,600 in fines payable to the state general fund.*

For Fiscal Year 2024 (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024), the Commission issued 2322 noticed and consent orders in Transportation dockets. Of those, the Commission approved 591 Transportation penalty orders, assessing $525,950 in fines payable to the state general fund.* 

Penalty orders are assessed to motor carriers for violations of the Transportation statutes, safety rules and safety regulations. Fines and penalties shown are based on the original Commission orders and do not reflect subsequent amendments or modifications.
